I Saw A Child
I saw a child who couldn't walk, sit on a horse, laugh and talk. Then
ride it through a field of daisies and yet he could not walk unaided.
I saw a child, no legs below, sit on a horse and make it go. Through woods
of green and places he had never been, to sit and stare, except from a chair.
I saw a child who could only crawl, mount a horse and sit up tall. Put it
through degrees of paces and laugh at the wonder in our faces.
I saw a child born into strife, take up and hold the reins of life. And
that same child, I heard him say "Thank God for showing me the way!"

LARRY BONA RESIGNS AS EQUEST TREASURER
Equest Special Riders is looking for a new Treasurer as Larry Bona
resigns after six years as Treasurer. He will remain involved with Equest Special
Riders and will help the new Treasurer come on board when Equest Special Riders
finds one. Anyone know of someone who would like to fill this post? Much thanks
to Larry for his service to Equest Special Riders as our Treasurer.
A FEW NOTES FOR VOLUNTEERS
Hi,
We are anxious to add your fresh ideas to ours. Volunteering for a single
event, a weekly time commitment of an hour or more or distributing brochures
by mail or in person will help immensely. You are needed to sew banners, paint
signs, silk-screen, address envelopes, make phone calls, head a work party etc.
If you are active in a club, a church group, school function or will be working
in a booth at a bazaar or craft show, handing out information about Special Riders
would give them the boost they need.
We are now actively "grant writing," publicizing and promoting. If you have
any experience in any of these areas OR wish to learn how to do them, give us
a call and join our "Active Volunteers."
If you prefer working "hands-on" with the animals, help is always appreciated
as side walkers for the Riders, horse and pony grooming, driving a pony cart,
and all the behind the scenes functions that go along with horses.
Equest Special Riders, Inc. is growing. Volunteer and enjoy the exhilaration
of being part of that growth. Daily, new riders request our services. With your
help, we will provide for them.
There are few things more rewarding than the smile of person who has received
the gift of your time and caring. We are looking forward to meeting you.
Contact our Volunteer Coordinators Sandra and Roy Mc Clendon today
(at address or phone below) and arrange to schedule your volunteer-time.
